Genelle Royer is a guest instructor of classical dressage.   She taught 6 students on Oct 16th and will be returning on Nov 13th.   Genelle teaches groundwork, lunge line, T-touch, and riding lessons suitable for any horse, any rider, any discipline.   Auditing is free - come join us!

Lynn Conrad purchased Justa Hercules, a 5 year old Arabian gelding, born and  raised at Windrush Hill Farm.   He is in training, and will be competing at the Sand Ridge CTR in May 2005.   He moves like a dream and Lynn will be cross training Hercules with Genelle Royer for dressage.  Lynn even has personalized license plates that say "Herqules"!

Ann and her friend Lori Field attended the Reined Cow Horse Snaffle Bit Futurity Finals in Reno Oct 1st - 3rd.  The Reined Cow Horse is the western equivalent of the English Eventing Horse.   The Reined Cow Horse competes in three events - reining, cutting, and working cow.  The horses are primarily California style bridle horses trained in the vaquero tradition.   It was an education to watch top trainers and horses competing.

Ann took Justa Hercules and Az Apollo trail riding to Yellow River Forest over Halloween weekend.   She was joined by her 82 year young friend Dorothy Huene who caught 5 trout from Little Paint Creek, and fixed a delicious trout meal.   Her friend Nancy Grams met us there and we enjoyed a campfire and good company.   The trails were slippery with clay and autumn leaves but the horses were careful to pick their way.    The weekend was grey and drizzly but we were able to cook and eat in an old log cabin, and still managed to get out riding every day.

Thank you to Lacey Courtney of Courtney Arabians for selling us TSS Az Rosita.   Rosita was bred by Susan Skow and is a daughter of Azrosali, who is also the dam of her stallion TSS Az Malik.   Rosita is an unflappable 16 year old Arab mare with lovely western pleasure gaits, and a trail horse deluxe.   Az Kalika and TSS Az Rosita were hauled to Las Vegas by Judy and Art Duke to their new home with Derek and Christina Duke.   Derek and Christina are first time horse owners and looking forward to trail riding, camping, and having fun with the horses.

Mickie Franks, the owner of Blue, is recovering from open heart surgery.   She is looking forward to getting back in the saddle.   Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Beth Riley, the owner of Hailey, is recovering from an auto accident.   She is a student at Iowa Wesleyan College, busy with school, work, and the lead in the play "Agnes of God".    Keep up the good work Beth!
